Grilled Fish Filet BLT with Easy Avocado Mayo
Sometimes we all need a quick suggestion to get our grilling ideas flowing! That is the case with this rub recipe that’s perfect for grilled fish fillets. It’s also fantastic with chicken, pork chops, and more! But, for now, let’s stick to making the ultimate grilled fish filet BLT with Easy Avacado Mayo!
Proof that not every fish sandwich has to be fried!

- 1/2 tablespoon cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 2-3 teaspoons garlic powder

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a dry container and mix well. Store in a sealed container – Double the recipe as needed.
Grilled Fish on a BLT?
Heck yea! Why not? And, everyone knows how to make a BLT sandwich… (Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato – just in case) so how hard could this recipe be? Not hard at all! In fact, this is just a sneaky way to pass along a recipe for an awesome rub and a quick flavored mayonnaise idea. The end result – awesome sandwich!
Gently rub the fish filets down, use your favorite white fish filets boneless and skinless. Cover and allow to rest in the fridge while you fire up the grill with your BBQ Dragon Chimney of Insanity! Grill the filets as you normally would and remove them from the grill when they flake easily with a fork.
And, try this RECIPE FOR GRILLED BACON if you want to go flavor crazy!
For the Easy Avodaco Mayonaisse:
- 2 avocados
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Halve and pit the avocados, scoop the inside into a bowl. Mash the avocados with a fork and add in the mayonnaise, mix well, and season with salt and pepper. This mayo will last a day – maybe two if covered tightly with little excess air. Perfect for making Grilled Fish BLT sandwiches – make the mayo and eat it with your BLT!
Putting your BLT Together:
Slather some Texas toast with butter and grill using your BBQ Dragon Grill Mats for a perfect BLT sandwich bread. Now, make your BLT using fresh tomato slices, crispy pieces of lettuce, and your grilled BACON – see link above. Finally, top the sandwiches off with your fresh grilled fish!
I suggest getting everything ready to go from the sliced tomato and lettuce to the bacon and Texas Toast… and of course the avocado mayo! That way, you can build your sandwiches and have them ready to go when the hot grilled fish comes off the grill. And, this recipe also works perfectly with grilled chicken.
