Riddle: When is a charcoal chimney not a charcoal chimney? When it’s a Chimney of Insanity being used as a “rocket stove.”
One of our favorite YouTube stars, Guga, of Guga Foods, likes to sous vide steaks, and then sear them quickly over super-hot flames, and for that he prefers our Chimney of Insanity with the BBQ Dragon fan blowing in the bottom. I mean, this is a hot, hot fire. Super-concentrated. Another customer used the setup as a forge to melt metal in a ceramic urn. I kid you not.
So this is great stuff – but there is not a really good option for a grate. Most grates are too big, and the small ones have no handle…
Until now. The Chimney Grate. And we may have gone too far on the durability of this product. The stainless steel grate is made with such thick heavy wires, that not only do we guarantee it for the rest of your life, it can also be used as a weapon in case someone tries to steal your Chimney of Insanity.
Surprisingly, this makes very good use out of a small amount of charcoal. Light it, blow the fan through it, and you’ll instantly get plenty of super-hot flames to grill a few steaks, and you don’t even have to start up the grill.
NOTE: Please set the chimney on a non-flammable surface when using your chimney as a rocket stove or you could start, you know, a fire. And not the one you meant to.
